The Process
Maria, Lily, and I were tasked with creating a 30–40-second short film. We began with a word web and brainstorming ideas. Then, we wrote a script, created sketches, created a moodboard, chose a color palette, designed a storyboard, and got to animating.
Below are some initial animation tests that I created.
First animatic
My Role
I animated the first half of the film using Adobe After Effects. To add light beams and lens flares, I used the lens flare, radial blur, and glow effects. The fish were animated using simple wave warp and puppet pin effects. Grain texture and light shimmer on the river was created using the roughen edges effect.
